Oto Bihalji-Merin, ed. Belgrade. Oto Bihalji-Merin (Serbian Cyrillic: Ото Бихаљи Мерин; 3 January – 22 December ) was a Serbian writer, art historian, painter and art critic. Bihalji-Merin was born to a Jewish family in Zemun, then an Austro-Hungarian town on the very border with Kingdom of Serbia.

BIHALJI MERIN, OTO (–), Yugoslav writer and art historian. He studied painting in Belgrade and Berlin. While his approach to modern art was pan-European, his politics were of the extreme left wing. In Berlin he edited a Communist daily and later he fought in the Spanish Civil War and reported on it.
